NICK MAGLIO • FOUNDER & PRINCIPAL

Commercial problems don’t live in one department. Neither has my career.

I’m Nick Maglio, Founder & Principal of 6 Factor Commercial.

For more than 20 years, my work has crossed product strategy, product marketing, commercialization, customer insight, marketing, sales, sales enablement, channels and commercial systems.

The recurring job has been the same: translate what customers and markets need into product direction, positioning, sales confidence, channel execution and repeatable commercial performance.

WHY 6 FACTOR COMMERCIAL

I built 6 Factor Commercial around the work I have repeatedly been asked to do inside businesses.

Technical capability alone does not create commercial success.

Products still have to solve a meaningful problem. Buyers have to understand the value. Sales and partners have to believe and communicate it. The route to market has to make sense. And the business has to deliver what it promised.

I have worked on each of those pieces, and often have personally bridged the gaps between them.

That is the foundation of 6 Factor Commercial.

ENVIRONMENTS

I have worked on both sides of the complexity problem.

My career includes industrial automation and capital equipment, automotive OEM and dealer ecosystems, agricultural / construction equipment OEM environments, enterprise platforms and technology-enabled services, founder-led and engineering-led businesses, professional and technical services, and B2B2C / channel-driven models.

That breadth does not make me an industry expert in every market.

It does create pattern recognition around the commercial problems that repeatedly appear when technical products, customers, channels and organizations have to work together.

HOW I WORK

Evidence before activity.

Listen before prescribing

Understand the current state, desired state and what leadership believes is causing the gap.

Get outside the building

Customer, market and behavioral evidence should be able to overturn an internal hypothesis.

Challenge when warranted

If evidence suggests the requested solution is wrong, I will say so.

Prioritize hard

The job is not to create a longer initiative list. It is to determine what matters most.

Make strategy usable

Recommendations need ownership, timing, measures and an achievable path to implementation.

If the commercial problem crosses functions, that is usually where I can add the most value.
