HOW WE HELP
Make the right commercial decision. Make the change. Lead what comes next.
6 Factor Commercial uses three engagement models for three different needs: Diagnose for decision clarity, Accelerate to implement and validate a defined change, and Lead for ongoing executive commercial leadership.
01 – DIAGNOSE | DECISION
Commercial Diagnostic
Evidence-based commercial assessment • Starts at $7,500
Diagnose is for a consequential business problem that is visible but not sufficiently understood to justify the next investment or major commercial decision.
I establish the current state, examine relevant internal and outside-in evidence, separate symptoms from root causes, assess the business impact and determine what management should prioritize next.
The six commercial factors are diagnostic lenses, not artificial scope boundaries. The investigation can follow evidence across market and customer, product and offer, positioning and value, go-to-market, sales and channels, and customer/commercial execution when necessary to determine the root cause of the agreed business problem.
What you receive
- Clearly defined business problem and diagnostic scope
- Current-state assessment and desired state where appropriate
- Relevant internal, external and commercial evidence
- Important evidence and data limitations
- Symptoms, root causes and relevant commercial dependencies
- Business impact, quantified where reasonably defensible
- Prioritized recommendations
- Clarity on what not to spend time or money on yet
- Practical next-step or approximately 90-day direction
- Recommended ownership and measures
- Written executive assessment and findings readout
What Diagnose is not
It is not a broad six-factor audit, generic marketing audit, automated scorecard, website assessment disguised as strategy or an implementation engagement.
The buyer is purchasing evidence, diagnosis, judgment, prioritization and decision clarity.
02 – ACCELERATE | CHANGE
Commercial Intervention
Defined implementation engagement • Starts at $15,000
Accelerate is for a commercial problem that is sufficiently established to act on and important enough that the business needs more than recommendations. The objective is to make the required change happen and validate that it works.
Accelerate can follow Diagnose or begin directly when the problem is already reasonably well established. Direct entry still includes enough discovery and evidence review to validate the starting condition before implementation moves forward.
The engagement is scoped around one clearly defined commercial outcome or intervention. The work may cross factor boundaries when those components are directly required to achieve that outcome, without turning the engagement into an open-ended transformation program.
What Accelerate does
- Confirms the starting problem and defines the desired outcome
- Designs and aligns the strategic solution
- Creates the high-value strategic artifacts required for the intervention
- Translates strategy into an implementation roadmap, milestones and responsibilities
- Leads implementation across relevant client teams, vendors and stakeholders
- Establishes appropriate success measures, risks and acceptance criteria
- Tests or validates the change using the evidence method appropriate to the intervention
- Includes one meaningful refinement cycle based on what is learned
- Operationalizes the working model with ownership, cadence and capability transfer where needed
- Concludes with executive handoff and next-step direction
What you are buying
Depending on the intervention, strategic work may include positioning and value architecture, ICP or segmentation, product or offer architecture, GTM or commercialization direction, sales discovery and enablement frameworks, channel operating models, commercial-process requirements, KPI frameworks or other defined artifacts required to achieve the agreed outcome.
Accelerate combines solution design, senior implementation leadership, strategic creation, validation, refinement and operationalization. It is not simply a strategy sprint or a package of tactical deliverables.
03 – LEAD | LEADERSHIP
Fractional CMO / Commercial Growth Leadership
Ongoing executive leadership • Starts at $8,000/month • Minimum six-month initial commitment
Lead is for companies that need continuing senior commercial direction rather than another finite project.
Fractional CMO is the recognizable category. The actual mandate is broader: connecting customer and market evidence to product and offer decisions, positioning and value, go-to-market, sales and channels, and customer/commercial execution.
As Founder & Principal of 6 Factor Commercial, I work directly with company leadership to establish commercial priorities, align teams and resources, direct important decisions, maintain operating discipline and hold execution accountable.
The leadership mandate may include
- Executive commercial strategy and priority setting
- Market and customer direction, including Voice of Customer priorities
- Product-to-market, portfolio and offer decisions
- Positioning, value and commercialization direction
- Go-to-market priorities
- Sales and channel strategy and alignment
- Commercial performance review and corrective direction
- Cross-functional leadership, accountability and operating cadence
- Team coaching and capability development
- Vendor, agency and specialist direction
- Selected high-value strategic work products
- Strategically important customer, sales, dealer, distributor or partner involvement
Lead provides flexible executive direction as priorities change. It is not an agency retainer, outsourced marketing department, hourly consulting bucket or unlimited-access arrangement.
SCOPE BOUNDARIES
Senior commercial leadership where it creates the most value.
6 Factor Commercial can diagnose commercial problems, define strategy and requirements, create selected high-value strategic work, lead implementation, direct internal teams and vendors, coach staff, establish measures and hold resources accountable.
That is different from becoming the routine execution workforce. Website production, CRM programming and administration, automation configuration, routine SEO or paid-media execution, graphic production, routine content, lead-list building, outsourced prospecting and administrative marketing work should generally remain with capable client resources or qualified specialists.
I understand much of that execution because I have done it. 6 Factor applies that experience where senior judgment, direction and implementation leadership create greater commercial value.
FAQ
Common questions about scope.
Do I need Diagnose before Accelerate?
No. Accelerate can follow Diagnose or begin directly when the commercial problem is already reasonably well established. Direct entry still includes sufficient validation before implementation begins.
Does Diagnose assess all six factors?
Diagnose is scoped around one clearly defined business problem, not one factor and not a broad six-factor audit. The six factors are diagnostic lenses, so the evidence can cross factor boundaries when needed to determine root cause. Separate problems discovered along the way are not automatically added to scope.
How broad can an Accelerate engagement be?
Accelerate is built around one clearly defined commercial outcome or intervention. It can cross factor boundaries when those components are directly necessary to achieve the agreed outcome, but it is not an open-ended commercial transformation program. Materially separate problems or major added work require a new or expanded scope.
Does 6 Factor Commercial implement?
Yes, when implementation leadership is part of the engagement. Accelerate is specifically designed to help make a defined commercial change happen. 6 Factor may lead teams and vendors, facilitate decisions, create selected high-value strategic work, coach staff and support strategically important implementation activity. Routine specialist production is normally handled by qualified client resources or external vendors.
When does Lead make more sense than Accelerate?
Accelerate fits a defined intervention with a clear endpoint. Lead fits when commercial priorities continue to evolve and the company needs ongoing executive direction across market, product, positioning, GTM, sales, channels and execution rather than another finite project.
Do you work only with manufacturers?
No. Industrial and technical businesses are strong fits, but the common thread is commercial complexity rather than a single industry. 6 Factor also works where the business problem fits the experience and the company needs senior cross-functional commercial judgment.
Before spending more, make sure the next move addresses the real commercial constraint.
